Republic of the Congo
The country known as the Republic of the Congo is situated in west-central Africa, right along the Equator. It is often referred to as Congo (Brazzaville) to distinguish it from its neighbouring country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is commonly known as the DRC or Congo (Kinshasa).
The population of Congo is relatively small, with most people residing in urban areas. The capital city, Brazzaville, is the most populous and is located in the southeastern part of the country. It serves as a significant inland port on the Congo River.
